Kimberly Knox is an Associate Professor at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM. Dr. Knox earned a Bachelor's in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University and a MSW from New Mexico State University with an emphasis on family therapy in a multicultural setting.  Dr. Knox obtained her Ph.D. in Special Education with an emphasis on bilingual and multicultural education. Dr. Knox worked in the Las Cruces Public Schools system as a school social worker for 13 years supporting exceptional students in the developmentally delayed pre-school department, autism support, primary and secondary students in inclusion, and as a behavior specialist. She is a board-certified clinical supervisor with the state of NM and a Level III school social worker. Her practice experience includes acute mental health crises, group therapy, and extensive work in family systems. Dr. Knox has facilitated several workshops and presentations surrounding social work and special education and believes that social workers are key advocates in schools to promote social justice, and combat stigma and bias about exceptional students. In her spare time, you will find Dr. Knox on a road-bike, hiking a trail in the mountains, and relaxing with her four children and husband.

Stephen P. Hydon is a Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California, Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. He also chairs the School Social Work Program, one of the largest in the country, with over 200 students each year earning credentials to practice school social work in public school settings. Dr. Hydon’s interests lie in social work practice in schools, child welfare, and secondary traumatic stress. He has trained nationwide on secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue, educator resilience and the Psychological First Aid - Listen, Protect, Connect, Model, and Teach curriculum for school personnel. He is a member of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the Trauma and Services Adaptation Center for Resiliency, Hope and Wellness in Schools. Recently, Dr. Hydon was funded to co-lead a team of experts in the fields of education and secondary trauma to create a one-of-a-kind online learning platform for educators experiencing secondary traumatic stress entitled Support for Teachers Affected by Trauma (STAT): www.statprogram.org. He is married to his wife Maria, who is also a professor at USC. In his spare time, Dr. Hydon loves to cook, watch sports, and spend time with their three children.

Susan Elswick is a Full professor at the University of Memphis School of Social Work. Dr. Susan Elswick has over 16 years of clinical mental health experience. She is an LCSW in AR, MS, and TN, and she is a licensed school social worker in TN.   Her research interests include the use of evidence-based behavioral interventions for addressing client’s needs, supporting schools in developing effective school-based mental health programs that are trauma-responsive, the use of expressive art therapies/ experiential therapies in the field of social work practice, and the use of informatics and technology in the field of social work. She was awarded the prestigious Gary Lee Shaffer Award for Academic Contributions to the Field of School Social Work by the School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) in 2018.

Maria Hu is a full-time faculty member in the Doctor of Social Work Program at Simmons University's School of Social Work as an Associate Professor of Practice. She has been a practicing social worker for 16 years. Dr. Hu currently has her private practice serving adolescents, families, and adults utilizing various evidence-based practices. She is presently serving as a nationally certified trainer and consultant for an evidence-based intervention published by the Rand Corporation, Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS). Within this capacity, she underwent extensive training and certification in Racial Trauma and the adaptation of CBITS, the Bounce Back evidence-based intervention. Dr. Hu's commitment to social justice continues to bless her with the opportunity to work/train clinicians across the country on how to embrace a culturally humble stance as they facilitate dialogues around the significant impact of race-related stress. She is helping school leaders prepare to address issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and grief adequately.

Altisha Glaster is a school social worker at a elementary school, grades Pre-K through 8th. Mrs. Glaster is an adjunct professor at Passaic County Community College.  She has been in the social work field for over ten years working in schools and child welfare. Mrs. Glaster obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Masters of Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She obtained her Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University. Mrs. Glaster also has certificates in Human Resources Management and Administrative Science. Mrs. Glaster is currently attending Caldwell University to obtain her Principal Certification. She is a Board Trustee at Phillips Academy Charter School in Paterson, NJ and Vice President of the North New Jersey Chapter of National Association of Black Social Workers. Mrs. Glaster is also on the Young Professionals Advisory Council for Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey.

Jahanna Bailey serves as an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in the School Social Work, where she teaches research and practice courses. Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, she earned a Doctorate in Social Work from Tulane University. For over 13 years Dr. Bailey served as a clinician and supervisor at Capital Area Human Services District’s School Based Therapy Program before coming to Louisiana State University. Her practice experience includes extensive work with children, youth and families, particularly in the school setting. Dr. Bailey believes that the field of social work is an instrumental avenue for facilitating and empowering individuals to become active agents in social change. Her research area focuses on children and youth, with specific emphasis on childhood trauma. She has facilitated numerous workshops across the state on empirically-based interventions with at risk youth and families. Throughout her social work career, she has been dedicated to serving and advocating for the welfare of children, youth and their families.
